 Jewell's Story

On Whimsical's Jewell was just hours from what would have been her last ride.  On Oct. 31, 2005, after receiving a call from a concerned horse lover, W.E.R. was informed of her condition and her known fate.  Whimsical only had a short few hours to save this sweet mare.  W.E.R. purchased Jewell and had taken her to the vet where Dr.Hazzard did an emergency coggins and recommended that we wait to do her dental work and vaccines because of her condition, she would not be able to take the procedures. Then she went to Horse Play Way with Lisa.  Jewell will return to Dr. Hazzard in Dec.- keep watching on her progress .... Also Jewell is in need of a sponsor she is eating triple crown senior and needs her teeth floated and vaccines along with vitamins and supplements.

UPDATE:

AFTER 30 DAYS AT

WHIMSICAL EQUINE RESCUE

WITH "LISA" LOOK AT JEWELL NOW!!!!

Almost 4 years later, Jewell is still with us and has become a sanctuary horse.  Her weight is hard to keep on and we have found out she is over 30 years old.  She is very sweet and during the months that she is in good weight, she gives the most mannered (but very short) rides.  Jewell remains a reminder of how horses give their best to us, only to be tossed aside when they no longer are useful.

Jewell was one of the lucky ones.  She lived out her last days here on earth in a caring, loving home.

July 2009:  Jewell has moved on to "Greener Pastures".  She was not alone and will be missed greatly.
